New Zealand's clean and beautiful coastal waters are a haven to a unique fishery resource filled with the most premium white flesh fish you'll find on earth. Moana harvest, process and export the best of them, live, chilled or frozen, to the most demanding international markets.
Like all New Zealand fisheries, Moana work in accordance with the Quota Management System (QMS). Introduced in 1986, it ensures the conservation of major fisheries stocks and has earned New Zealand the reputation of world leader in sustainable fisheries management.
Moana exports to a number of countries, and maintains services to the domestic market, including a strong association with the restaurant and hotel food service trade.
Moana also includes a separate business unit for rock lobster. The harvesting of rock lobster from the North Island and Chatham Islands is predominantly for live export to customers throughout Asia.
Moana is one of New Zealand’s largest seafood operations and a 100% Māori owned company.
